ShaleMD privacy policy
Updated October 13, 2026
This policy covers ShaleMD and Web Clipper.
What we use
We use the work you create or upload, your preferences, basic sign-in information, and limited service/security records to provide ShaleMD. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.
Where your work lives
Local vaults keep files in your connected folder. Cloud vaults save work to your private account online. Your browser may keep drafts and recovery copies. Clearing browser data removes those copies, not your saved local files or cloud vault.
AI and other services
AI is optional. Using it sends your prompt and relevant content to third-party AI services; voice dictation also sends audio for transcription. Sign-in, weather, news, media, and image services receive information needed for the features you use. External connections may share your IP address and browser information, and those services may use their own cookies. Their handling follows their own privacy policies.
Web Clipper
The clipper reads the page you choose, including its title, source link, text, and image links. Conversion happens in your browser. “Clip to ShaleMD” sends it to your ShaleMD tab, where you choose a note and save it. Linked images load from their original hosts.
Unsaved transfers are held temporarily in your browser and cleared when saved, cancelled, the destination tab closes, or the browser restarts. The extension does not read unrelated browsing history or run analytics. Clip data is used only for clipping and saving, in accordance with Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
Saved work and keys remain until you remove them. Some recovery, account, consent, and security records may remain for service or legal needs. Sign-out does not erase saved work. You can delete content, remove API keys in Settings, and clear browser copies.
For privacy, access, correction, or account-deletion requests, email dev@avenyx.io. We verify account ownership before acting.
Do Not Track requests do not change our handling; external services follow their own rules. Policy updates appear here with a revised date.
